The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

A week after graduating from Penn State, I married my wife, Sandy Severns, and we moved to St. Louis, MO where I began employment with McDonnell Aircraft as a draftsman. In 1966, I accepted an offer from Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, CA. In 1967, Douglas merged with McDonnell to form the McDonnell Douglas Corporation. In 1974, I joined a furniture manufacturer in Compton, CA as Production Control Manager. Late in 1980, we moved from our home in Garden Grove to the Santa Barbara area where I accepted employment with a disk drive head manufacturer, Information Magnetics, as the Documentation and Drafting Manager. In 1986, I accepted a position with Hughes Aircraft Santa Barbara Research Center (SBRC) in Santa Barbara as Infomag was moving its operations to San Diego, CA. Hughes SBRC was purchased by Raytheon in the late 1990s, where I continued my employment until I retired in 2003. Sandy and I have been blessed with two wonderful daughters and sons in law and four beautiful grandchildren. We all currently reside near Charlotte, NC. Sandy and I enjoy traveling, sailing, and classic cars.
